Gauriganga Municipality office still locked due to disagreement over the formation of investigation committee

Dhangadhi: The lock put on the door of  Gauriganga Municipality office of Kailali on Monday has not been opended yet. It is said that it's still locked due to disagreement over the formation of the investigation committee. The four parties had called for the formation of a committee to investigate the irregularities in the municipality and make it public.

Though the agitating party and the mayor Bhim Bahadur Deuba agreed to form an investigation committee on Wednesday, the agreement was broken on Thursday. After Deuba refused to agree to the decision to form an investigation committee on Wednesday, the parties proposed to form a five-member investigation committee from among the members representing their party in the municipal executive or municipal council.

However, Mayor Deuba has not agreed to that either. Deuba has been saying that his party should also participate. Rastriya Janamorcha leader Umesh Kadel said that the municipality office is still locked as the mayor could not reach an agreement.
