Mahakali and Seti Hospitals face shotage of ventilators for COVID-19 patients

Dhangadhi: A person infected with Coronavirus informed that Seti Provincal Hospital is out of ventilators for patients.

The victim's son told Dinesh Khabar that a woman from Shuklaphanta Municipality, Ward No. 10, Jhalari, Kanchanpur needed a ventilator but she had to go to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment as she could not get a ventilator in Seti. It is said that the external travel details of the infected woman were not available.

She tested positive at Mahakali Hospital on April 22 and was treated there for two days. However, Information Officer of Seti Provincial Hospital Dilip Kuma Shrestha said that the hospital referred the patient to Dadeldhura at the request of a relative.

There are 5 ventilators in Seti for the treatment for COVID-19 patients. Similarly, Mahakali Hospital has six ventilators and Dadeldhura Hospital has two ventilators, while there are only 19 ventilators for covid treatment in the state, according to government data.
